{"id":1623,"date":"2012-05-15T11:15:20","date_gmt":"2012-05-15T15:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/?p=1623"},"modified":"2012-05-15T09:49:22","modified_gmt":"2012-05-15T13:49:22","slug":"marketers-have-success-then-stop-doing-what-worked-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/marketers-have-success-then-stop-doing-what-worked-2","title":{"rendered":"Marketers Have Success, Then Stop Doing What Worked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It doesn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/internet-marketing.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1624\" title=\"internet-marketing\" src=\"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/internet-marketing-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>matter what level of marketer you are, you either have already, or will at some point in your career, make this mistake.<\/p>\n<p>You are going along and things are going pretty well.\u00a0 You\u2019re in the middle of a marketing campaign and you\u2019re getting good results with what you\u2019re doing.\u00a0 You get through the entire campaign and have tremendous results \u2013 better than you ever got before with any program you\u2019ve done.<\/p>\n<p>The next time you want to market that exact same program, you do something completely different, instead of going back to the campaign that was successful the last time, and doing it again, you try something new.\u00a0 You develop a whole new campaign; new mail pieces, new emails, new everything.\u00a0 And, when this campaign isn\u2019t as successful as the last one, you wonder why.<\/p>\n<p>As the old wise man says, if it isn\u2019t broke, don\u2019t fit it!<\/p>\n<p>Part of this need to develop something new and different simply comes from being an entrepreneur.\u00a0 It\u2019s just in your nature to try new things \u2013 you get bored doing the same thing over and over again, so you develop a whole new marketing campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, your new campaign doesn\u2019t get the same outstanding results you had before, and most of the time you won\u2019t be able to figure out why.<\/p>\n<p>Or, maybe you got great results with the new campaign you created, and that\u2019s what we all hope for, but you spent a lot of time and money you could have been spending on a totally new product, seminar, launch, etc.<\/p>\n<p>It may seem simple, or even too easy, but the smart marketer continues to do what has worked in the past.\u00a0 Do it over and over again, until the results begin to diminish \u2013 at that point, you know it\u2019s time to start testing other marketing methods, developing new marketing pieces, marketing in another media, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Go back into your business and look at things that worked in the past, see if you\u2019re still doing them, or if you have abandoned them.\u00a0 If there\u2019s a reason to have moved on to something new, then that\u2019s great, but if there isn\u2019t you want to consider pulling that old campaign off the shelf and doing it again.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t stop doing what works, if it works, do more of it, to a new list and\/or to the same list.\u00a0 Keep doing the things that are working while you\u2019re doing new things.\u00a0 Don\u2019t abandon the tried and true programs you\u2019ve already invested time and money in to make successful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/reuse.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1625\" title=\"reuse\" src=\"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/reuse-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Reuse and redistribute the things you already have.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to use them in the exact same format, but why make new when you can reuse what you already have.\u00a0 Sometimes a new headline on a mail piece that is proven and has worked in the past is all you need.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of constantly coming up with new content, use what you already have.\u00a0 What have you done recently that you can use in a different media to create a new product?\u00a0 Have you done a teleseminar?\u00a0 Could you use that to make some CD\u2019s and a transcript for a new product to sell to your clients?\u00a0 You could, but do you?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It doesn\u2019t matter what level of marketer you are, you either have already, or will at some point in your career, make this mistake.
