{"id":2156,"date":"2013-04-10T09:56:29","date_gmt":"2013-04-10T13:56:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/?p=2156"},"modified":"2013-04-10T09:56:29","modified_gmt":"2013-04-10T13:56:29","slug":"follow-up-the-key-to-business-success%e2%80%a6and-increased-profits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.completemarketingsystems.com\/cms\/follow-up-the-key-to-business-success%e2%80%a6and-increased-profits","title":{"rendered":"Follow Up: The Key To Business Success\u2026And Increased Profits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you following-up with your prospects? \u00a0Do you do enough follow-up?<\/p>\n<p>You may think the sale stops at the end of an event, or the end of a call, or at the end of the first step of however it is you go about making sales in your business.<\/p>\n<p>This is simply not the case.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t follow-up in every way imaginable you might as well say \u201cI give up, if you don\u2019t want anything I have after this, you\u2019ll never hear from me again.\u201d \u00a0And if you do that in your business, you\u2019ll probably be shutting your doors before you know it.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t give up\u2026instead, follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>What you may not know is that you can typically expect 50% more sales in the follow-up stage than you got in the initial sales phase. \u00a0So, if you sell 10 people your product, service or your program on the initial sales meeting, you will typically get another 5 sales in the follow-up process.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you had an event and 10 people decided they liked you enough to do business with you. \u00a0When you follow-up, when you send out emails, direct mail, make phone calls or you reach out in whatever way you reach out to those other people, you\u2019re likely to generate another 50% in sales. \u00a0That\u2019s another 5 sales in this example.<\/p>\n<p>Suppose you\u2019re selling $1,000.00 item. \u00a0That\u2019s an extra $5,000.00 in your bank account. \u00a0There are a lot of things you can do with that additional $5,000.00. \u00a0You could pay overhead or bills, or put it back into your business some other way. \u00a0The point is, if you settle for 10 people \u2013 that\u2019s $10,000.00 on the initial sale \u2013 you\u2019re missing out on that extra $5,000.00 if you don\u2019t follow-up. \u00a0And that\u2019s just with your typical follow-up strategies.<\/p>\n<p>People are skeptical today. \u00a0People need to be finessed and persuaded to do business with you.<\/p>\n<p>But if you give up too soon, the relationship isn\u2019t going to go very far. \u00a0If you do more follow-up, spend more time doing follow-up, do it faster, and do it longer (or add more steps to your follow-up process) than you normally would, it will mean a dramatic increase in your profits.<\/p>\n<p>You might have a few people opt-out of your list when you do more marketing and follow-up than you normally would. \u00a0That\u2019s fine. \u00a0Maybe they don\u2019t want what you have. \u00a0Don\u2019t be ultra-sensitive to people opting out of your list.<\/p>\n<p>The people who remain on your list are the people who are going to invest in your products and services, because they\u2019re the people who want to hear from you, even if you\u2019re reaching out to them more than is normal. \u00a0They stick with you because they believe in what you\u2019re doing, they believe you have something that can benefit them.<\/p>\n<p>So, remember, if you think the sale stops after the first no, or after the event ends, or the phone call ends, you need to rethink your philosophy. \u00a0You\u2019re giving up way too soon on the sale. \u00a0Follow-up. \u00a0Follow-up is the key to expanding your sales, your business and your profits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you following-up with your prospects? \u00a0Do you do enough follow-up?
