Can you think of anything in this world that\u2019s absolutely perfect? \u00a0If you can, it\u2019s probably doubtful that it\u2019s man-made. \u00a0Are you making the mistake of treating yourself, or your business as if it has to be perfect? \u00a0If you are you really need to stop.<\/p>\n

Too often, you strive to achieve perfection in yourself and in your business, and all you\u2019re doing is giving yourself an unrealistic goal. \u00a0Stop white-knuckling life and stop trying to be perfect. \u00a0No one expects you to be perfect, except you.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you have to let go of the reigns a little. \u00a0Sometimes you have to loosen your grip on all the things you try to control. \u00a0Sometimes you have to trust that spontaneity will prove to be just as great as charting the perfect step.<\/p>\n

Why is this so important?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s essential in your business because people want to do business with people they trust. \u00a0And the best way to gain people\u2019s trust is to show them just how imperfect you really are, and just how relatable you can be.<\/p>\n

You want to be approachable. \u00a0People don\u2019t want to think \u201coh there goes Mr. or Mrs. Perfect.\u201d \u00a0They want to see your moles, and warts and your hair a little frazzled. \u00a0It makes you human, and makes you like them. \u00a0And when you\u2019re like them, they trust you and they want to do business with you.<\/p>\n

Mistakes will happen in your life, and they will happen in your business. \u00a0You\u2019ll have to say I’m sorry once in a while, and you\u2019ll have to make up for the mistakes you make. \u00a0That\u2019s ok, it\u2019s allowed. \u00a0You\u2019re allowed to make mistakes, because when you do it lets other people know that they can make mistakes, too. \u00a0And they will too.<\/p>\n

The key is to be able to make mistakes, reveal your vulnerabilities, and to be able to recover from them. \u00a0It\u2019s that recovery that will make you a stronger business person, because it\u2019s during that time that you not only say \u201cI made a mistake, it happens, and I\u2019m sorry,\u201d but you also say, \u201cI\u2019m going to fix it.\u201d \u00a0And you do just that. \u00a0You fix the mistake.<\/p>\n

This can be challenging for some people. \u00a0You want everything in your business to be just right and to be perfect, because you think that\u2019s going to set you apart. \u00a0There\u2019s a difference, though, in doing things right and doing things perfectly. \u00a0You can do everything right and still make honest mistakes. \u00a0And when you work to do things right, you\u2019re able to forgive yourself when you make mistakes, because you know you were doing what you thought was the right thing.<\/p>\n

But when you try to be perfect, it creates stress when you make mistakes. \u00a0It makes it harder for you to recover because you didn\u2019t plan to have things not go according to your perfect plan.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In life, and in your business, you have to hold on loosely. \u00a0You have to stop trying so hard to be so perfect. \u00a0When you stop white-knuckling the controls, you\u2019ll find your business is more fun, more of what you wanted it to be when you started it.<\/p>\n

You can achieve a lot while being imperfect. \u00a0You will be imperfect. \u00a0It\u2019s easy to be imperfect \u2013 you have to be willing to forgive yourself. \u00a0You have to know and understand that mistakes are going to happen. \u00a0When you realize that, you will have better relationships with your clients, and everyone else too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
