As much as we all need time alone and hours of quiet to be productive (you know, those times when you have to swim alone), we also need a great team around us to maximize our potential as business owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, it might look at\nfeel like we\u2019re swimming alone, but our support team is just outside of the\nview of the picture\u2026always there to help us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For as many animals as I saw\nin solitude at the beach, I saw just as many in groups, working together to\naccomplish a common goal \u2013 much like we do in our businesses with our team\nevery day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many of us, our teams are\nvirtual, so while we\u2019re \u201cworking alone\u201d in our offices, there is great leverage\nbeing used in our businesses because we have a team working with us, it\u2019s just\nthat you don\u2019t see each other every day like you might if you worked in a more\ntraditional business, or if you have an office where people come everyday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great thing about having a team is you don\u2019t have to do all the work, and you benefit from the work others do \u2013 utilizing other people\u2019s time is one way to leverage in your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I watched the animals\nworking as a team it reminded me of my days as an athlete \u2013 in college, in high\nschool and all the teams I played on growing up. What benefits one, benefits\nall. Now, don\u2019t get me wrong, these animals weren\u2019t sharing food, necessarily,\nbut being in the place where there was food presented more opportunity for all\n\u2013 not just ONE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, they all\nbenefited from being part of the group or team. In this case, as it relates to\nfood, just because they could now all eat and only one of them had to find the\nfood source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a sense of cooperation\nand togetherness that was apparent. That happens when everyone is working\ntowards the same goal. They were all focused on their task, as we are in\nbusiness, AND still, everyone benefited from each others input and work \u2013 just\nlike when we work as a team in business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe it was because I needed\na break from it all that I got so many lessons from the animals in the early\nmorning hours on the relatively quiet beach a I walked. And, it was great time\nfor me to reflect and think\u2026or just let my mind wander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
