Today\u2019s message is a bit different than most\nyou get from me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yesterday was September 11th<\/sup> \u2013 a\nday I\u2019m sure none of us who were alive will ever forget \u2013 and for some reason\nit\u2019s been on my mind a lot lately. Not\nsure why this particular year, but it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you remember where you were and what you\nwere doing on that day 18 years ago? There are a few days and dates like this\nin my life that stick out. Where you remember exactly where you were and what\nwas happening at the moment you found out about the event\u2026know what I mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I remember being glued to the TV \u2013 all day\nlong\u2026almost mesmerized and in disbelief that this was happening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I made a few calls to friends who either might\nhave been traveling that day or who lived in the areas affected and they were\nall safe. For years, I didn\u2019t even know\nanyone who was there or who lost a friend or family member on 9\/11. That has\nnow changed and so has the impact this day has on me now \u2013 after hearing their\nstories and what it was like being close to the towers on that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m not trying to be morbid here or pull on\nyour heartstrings. And, I intentionally didn\u2019t send this message out yesterday\nbecause I never want to do anything that even appears to take away from other\u2019s\nprocessing on 9\/11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n So many things changed about our lives that\nday \u2013 whether you knew anybody who lost their life that day, whether you were\nin one of the affected areas, or if you weren\u2019t \u2013 it changed how we fly and so\nmany things about our lives. One of the things I remember most was the flags\nflying \u2013 on people\u2019s cars, homes and businesses\u2026and how people came together\nfor a while. (Personally, I\u2019d like to see more of the coming together on a more\nregular basis now\u2026any ideas about how you and I can do that or affect positive\nchange in that area).<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m writing about both because I find it\ncathartic and because, as you might have noticed, I\u2019ve been sending you more\nmessages in the past week or so. Some are business related and some are just\nthings that are happening in or around my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The topic of connection came up a week or so\nago when talking to a friend and business associate, so I decided to\ncommunicate with you more \u2013 both about business things and just life and things\nin general.
