<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nYou have plenty of time\u2026right?<\/strong> It flies, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever had something happen in your life \u2013 an event\nor an experience \u2013 and suddenly everything is different? It doesn\u2019t just FEEL\ndifferent, it IS different<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Last week that sort of happened to me. I had the honor and\nprivilege to interview James Nowlin for my podcast, and he talked about how he\nnearly died by drowning, when he unexpectedly got caught in a storm, on a lake,\nin Texas, a few years ago and how he now has a new life because of it. I found\nmyself intrigued by his story. Wanting to know more, I immediately ordered his\nbook and started reading the moment it arrived (thanks Amazon Prime for next\nday delivery). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Somehow, as I read the first 50, 75, 100 pages, or so, of\nthe book I was moved by the words on the page. There wasn\u2019t anything hugely\nrevolutionary about it \u2013 most of the things he talked about are things I teach\nand do myself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But I was overwhelmed<\/strong> by this nagging<\/strong> sense<\/strong>\nthat I hadn\u2019t been going all out\u2026that I\u2019d been holding back a bit for a while\nand not hustling quite as hard as I used or \u2013 or that I want to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, don\u2019t get me wrong, I\u2019ve been working every day,\nhelping my clients and honoring my commitments\u2026just not with the same passion\nand gusto I\u2019m accustomed to giving and not how I expect myself to work or feel\n\u2013 because at the end of the day, that\u2019s what matters<\/strong>\u2026how I feel about what\nI\u2019ve done and what I\u2019ve accomplished (how YOU feel), not somebody else\u2019s\njudgement about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Know what I mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever felt like that?<\/strong> I wanted to quit\u2026but I didn\u2019t<\/strong>. My legs hurt, my lungs hurt, and this was NOT<\/strong> fun! I kept pushing\u2026I kept pedaling\u2026until the very last milli-second, through to and past the end…as hard and as fast as my legs would take me! <\/p>\n\n\n\n I hadn\u2019t pushed myself <\/strong>like that in a VERY LONG time.\nIt sucked\u2026it hurt<\/strong>\u2026my face was beet red (as it almost always is when I\nexercise), I was gasping for every breath, and I was dripping sweat all over\nthe floor\u2026and it felt surprisingly good<\/strong> \u2013 all at the same time! WHY? Because I had accomplished something\nI wasn\u2019t sure I could do<\/strong>\u2026I had to monitor my self-talk. I kept telling\nmyself it was only 20 minutes out of my day, out of my life, and I can do\nanything for 20 lousy minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2026AND, I finished!<\/strong> I had my Result!<\/p>\n\n\n\n I knew right them, in that moment, that this day, this week,\nand every day and every week from here on was going to be different for me.\nSomehow, I felt more like myself again. More focused. More self-assured. More\ncommitted. More dedicated\u2026MORE EVERYTHING!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Then, later in the day, the news broke of a plane crash in\nCalifornia where 9 people died, including Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter\nGianna, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah & Payton Chester and\nChristina Mauser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As I looked at some of the Kobe quotes and interviews that followed, I was again reminded how we never know what the next moment, or tomorrow, will bring so we have to do our best in every moment and not waste time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Time is going to pass anyway. What you do with your moments, the lives you touch and how you live are your legacy<\/strong> and that\u2019s what matters \u2013 whether you have 40 years left, 40 days, 40 minutes or somewhere in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Make the most of all the minutes. Your ripple effect \u2013 the\neffect you have on others by who you are in every moment is what matters most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Remember, there is a BIG difference between WHAT you DO and WHO you ARE!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Go be who you are today and everyday\u2026and if I can help you\nin some way, please let me know \u2013 that\u2019s what I\u2019m here for. Then, Sunday morning, I did a special fitness test on my Peloton bike, and it was all out, as hard as you can go for 20 full minutes.
