Ever heard the phrase \u201cdone is better than perfect<\/strong>\u201d?<\/p>\n

Ever thought about its context or whether it\u2019s really true or not?<\/p>\n

Done is better than perfect is meant to get the procrastinator, the overthinker, the person who keeps going back and changing one little thing over and over again and never puts the product or service out to complete something.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not meant as an excuse to put out inferior products and services.<\/p>\n

Put another way, it\u2019s not an excuse to be lazy or to put out crappy stuff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Your business represents you.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you get in such a hurry to get something out that you don\u2019t take an extra few minutes to do it right. To think strategically and to make sure that your message gets heard\u2026 the way you want it to.<\/p>\n

When you do that you don\u2019t even consider what questions might get asked or what you might have missed.<\/p>\n

The opposite of throwing stuff out there without much thought is never putting it out. That happens because you\u2019re afraid!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You\u2019re afraid it might not be perfect<\/strong> (it\u2019s not, nothing ever is because none of us are perfect). You\u2019re afraid it won\u2019t be for everyone (it won\u2019t be \u2013 and that\u2019s a good thing). You\u2019re afraid you said something wrong or that you will offend somebody (you\u2019re never going to be for everyone<\/strong> and that\u2019s ok).<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re finished. Or when you think you\u2019re finished with something. Before you put it out, ask yourself this\u2026<\/p>\n

  1. Does this represent me<\/strong>, my company, and my brand in a way that makes me proud<\/strong>?<\/li>\n
  2. If I make changes to this will it make it significantly\u00a0better<\/strong> or am I procrastinating?<\/li>\n
  3. Is there anything missing<\/strong> that needs to be here?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once you can answer yes<\/strong> to the first question, you know making more changes would just be procrastinating<\/strong>, and that there isn\u2019t anything missing<\/strong>, pull the trigger and get it out into the world!<\/p>\n

    Remember, you can always make changes later.<\/p>\n

    Nothing has to be permanent.<\/p>\n

    So, is done better than perfect? Sure, because there\u2019s no such thing as perfect so that will never happen.<\/p>\n

    The real point is to take action and get things out there so you can make money in your business and make an impact on the world.\u2028\u2028Are you doing that?<\/p>\n
