It\u2019s a powerful book, written in a story format, all about a janitorial company that significantly reduces its turn over, and dramatically increases profits while changing lives, by helping their employees achieve their dreams. Some of them become home owners for the first time in their lives, some put their kids through college or go back to school themselves, some take long extended trips they\u2019ve dreamed of for years, and there is a lot more.<\/p>\nIt was significant for me as a reader because it made me realize how little attention I\u2019ve been giving to my dreams. Not the ones we have at night while sleeping, but my life dreams, the things that keep us all going, that fire our internal engines and have us leaping out of bed in the morning with the anticipation of the day.<\/p>\n
And, as a business owner, it made me think about my responsibility to my staff to help them achieve their dreams as well.\u00a0 The interesting thing about this concept is that by helping others achieve life dreams, it may actually mean that they outgrow their positions and even your employment, but when you do what\u2019s best for other people it always comes back to you in the long run.<\/p>\n
