Everything matters!<\/strong><\/p>\n It struck me as we got into cars where the only word the driver said was your name\u2026no hello, no smile, no curious chatter\u2026 nothing.<\/p>\n Being friendly, smiling and saying hi don\u2019t cost anything.<\/strong><\/p>\n Not only is it free<\/strong> to give out, but a simple gesture like that can also pay enormous dividends \u2013 financially<\/strong> and just in plain ole goodwill!<\/strong><\/p>\n And even on those days when you don\u2019t \u201cfeel\u201d like doing it \u2013 especially on those days \u2013 you should do it. Because it will make you feel better!<\/p>\n Smiles come back. Sometimes even laughter.<\/p>\n And it\u2019s a great way to get repeat business and referrals.<\/p>\n Not one of the rideshare drivers in Chicago said one word to any of us this weekend unless we asked a question or engaged them.<\/p>\n Thus, the reference to the unfriendly city. I won\u2019t even tell you the hotel stories\u2026 Your business is the same.<\/p>\n First impressions are important.<\/strong><\/p>\n Everything matters!<\/strong> Even and especially the little things!<\/strong><\/p>\n There\u2019s a great example of the rideshare driver here in my area of Tucker, Georgia. This gentleman started out as a rideshare driver and people liked him so much they started requesting him. He now drives full time \u2013 for his own business and refers people out because he gets overbooked. And\u2026 he\u2019s not the cheapest ride available.<\/strong><\/p>\n Imagine getting into a clean car<\/strong> that smells good \u2013 every time<\/strong> you ride, a driver who is always on time (or a few minutes early) to pick you up, a smile<\/strong> and pleasant greeting when he arrives, help with your bags (if you\u2019re traveling).<\/p>\n I could go on and on because that\u2019s just the beginning.<\/strong> Like your choice of beverages (he probably has your favorite \u2013 on purpose because he knows your preferences from previous rides), a charging cord for your phone (or anything else you might need to charge)\u2026 just for starters.<\/p>\n What kinds of things can you be doing in your business to not only make it more referable<\/strong> and to be friendlier (that costs nothing<\/strong>) but to just make people\u2019s days better \u2013 and your own\u2026<\/p>\n To Your Success \u2013<\/p>\n I don\u2019t travel as much as I did a few years ago to speak and for business.
