<\/p>\nA friend invited me to see the Nutcracker in Columbia, South Carolina, in early December. Her daughter is a freshman at the University of SC and they were going.<\/p>\n
Of course, I said yes!<\/p>\n
Believe it or not, I took ballet as a young girl\u2026 for a little while. Then I discovered sports and that was all over!<\/p>\n
As I\u2019m watching the performance (I had a few questions) I was amazed at the athleticism, strength and focus of the dancers.<\/p>\n
As the \u201csnow\u201d fell from the \u201csky\u201d they kept dancing and I found myself almost holding my breath hoping they didn\u2019t slip and fall with all that stuff on the floor. None of them did.<\/p>\n
These dancers had practiced<\/strong> those routines and had many hours of time in before they took the stage \u2013 and my guess is they practiced with the \u201csnow\u201d on the floor, so they\u2019re used to it.<\/p>\n Talk about Focus!<\/strong><\/p>\n To do those lifts and turns and moves with the precision they do takes incredible focus.
