Attending the Women\u2019s Final Four has been a thrill the last two years. Earlier this week I watched the WNBA draft for the first time ever.<\/p>\n
And, watching college softball on TV still just amazes me. Not only the fact that it\u2019s on TV but that they play in multi-million-dollar stadiums.<\/p>\n
It makes me miss my playing days.<\/p>\n
More than that, it got me thinking about what it takes to really be successful.<\/strong><\/p>\n We can agree that we all define success in different ways\u2026 even in business.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve seen a lot of talk lately about the disparity in the salaries between women and men in the professional leagues. While it\u2019s gotten better over the years there are still sports with huge gaps. While there are a lot of reasons for this (which I won\u2019t go into here) the thing that sticks out for me is that it\u2019s getting better\u2026 it\u2019s a process.<\/strong><\/p>\n Just like your business.<\/p>\n You aren\u2019t going to get results overnight,<\/strong> in most cases. It’s a process.<\/strong><\/p>\n Every time something doesn\u2019t go the way you want it to and you get frustrated, it\u2019s an opportunity to learn and grow and do better<\/strong> the next time.<\/p>\n It’s part of the process.<\/strong><\/p>\n For example, Dawn Staley (the University of South Carolina\u2019s women\u2019s basketball coach) was named head coach in 2008 and it took her 9 years to win a national championship. 2017 was her first and she\u2019s won two more since then. In 2022 and in 2024.<\/p>\n It was a process!<\/strong><\/p>\n The question is are you willing to go through the tough times<\/strong> to get to the winning and the championships or where you want your business to be.<\/p>\n Once you crack the winning formula,<\/strong> then it\u2019s easier to do again.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a process.<\/strong><\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking to short circuit your process<\/strong> and get to where you want to go faster, then you should hire a coach<\/strong> to help you.<\/p>\n I have two openings right now for new clients.
