The Olympics are over and as inspired<\/strong> as I was by all of \u2013 like I always am \u2013 the thing that hit me the most is how many parallels<\/strong> can be drawn in the games and business\u2026 in the athletes and an entrepreneur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The graphic sums up the United States achievements during these games \u2013 at least in numbers. You can get a pretty good idea of how successful<\/strong> the team was by looking at the numbers.<\/strong> For example, 43%<\/strong> of the athletes medaled\u2026 pretty darn good.<\/p>\n

And, like in business, the numbers are important, and they tell a story (not the story).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The numbers are part of the story<\/strong> \u2013 in business, they tell us a lot and are extremely important.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They aren\u2019t the whole story.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the games, if all you saw were the numbers, you\u2019d miss the individual stories,<\/strong> the struggles<\/strong> some athletes have to get to the games, the photo finishes,<\/strong> the last second wins and losses, the excitement<\/strong> and so much more.<\/p>\n

In business, if the numbers are all you use to drive and grow your business,<\/strong> you miss out on the same things \u2013 the people,<\/strong> the connections,<\/strong> the relationships\u2026<\/strong> the thing that makes business at least as valuable as the money it brings in \u2013 at least some of us feel that way.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s always more<\/strong> than what appears on the surface.<\/p>\n

In business, and in life, it usually pays to dig a little deeper.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every story has a story!<\/strong><\/p>\n
