\"\"I was spending some time working ON<\/strong> my business last week (as I do every week) and I found myself reflecting on the different phases of my business,<\/strong> how things have changed and stayed the same, and how those things progress the longer you\u2019re in business.<\/p>\n

Remember how excited<\/strong> you were to start your business. All the fun<\/strong> new things to discover<\/strong> and learn\u2026<\/p>\n

The fear of all that you didn\u2019t know.
\nThe trepidation as you did your first \u201cclass\u201d or video.
\nNot knowing if you were doing or saying the right things.
\nThe thrill of your first sale.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, as you entered the growth stage<\/strong> of your business, the exuberance<\/strong> you experienced with each new thing you added or tried. Even when things didn\u2019t work like you\u2019d hoped they would, you always pushed on,<\/strong> knowing something better was just around the corner.<\/p>\n

As you moved into the leverage phase<\/strong> of your business, adding systems,<\/strong> team and automation,<\/strong> you began to feel like you didn\u2019t have to do everything by yourself. And, maybe for the first time, you felt like you were building a business<\/strong> and didn\u2019t just buy yourself a job.<\/p>\n

Maybe you got to a point where you were scaling<\/strong> your business. Maybe you didn\u2019t. Not every business is meant to grow to the point of scaling.<\/p>\n

Whether it took you a year, a few years, or many years to get to this point, doesn\u2019t matter. You built a business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now what?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are so many options at this point. You can maintain,<\/strong> you can keep growing,<\/strong> you could even sell<\/strong> your business.<\/p>\n

For many, when you\u2019ve been in business for 20 or 30 years, or more, everything looks different. Time<\/strong> becomes more important than money<\/strong>. Your energy level<\/strong> changes. As do your priorities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This doesn\u2019t always happen. I know plenty of people who\u2019ve been in business 30+ years who are still expanding. Some are branching out into new areas,<\/strong> or buying new businesses,<\/strong> while others are continuing to grow<\/strong> the business they have.<\/p>\n

Each phase of business requires different things.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I hope whatever phase it is you\u2019re having fun<\/strong> and enjoying where you are.<\/p>\n
