The pollen count was over 14,000 this past weekend. That shattered the previous record of over 9,000. Everything\u2019s covered in yellow.<\/p>\n
As I was washing all that yellow off my car Saturday, I started thinking about how we all need to wash things off in our businesses once in a while.<\/p>\n
How often do you take a look at your business and make adjustments?<\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019m not talking about your marketing campaigns here \u2013 those you should be constantly adjusting based on your numbers.<\/p>\n I\u2019m talking about really looking at your business \u2013 from the top down<\/strong> \u2013 and analyzing<\/strong> whether you should keep doing what you\u2019re doing, make some modifications<\/strong>, or make a complete shift.<\/strong><\/p>\n Spring cleaning can mean a lot of things.<\/p>\n Maybe you just wash the pollen off the car (which we all know doesn\u2019t last very long until you have to do it again)\u2026make a few changes<\/strong> that may or may not stick over the long run.<\/p>\n Maybe you build a garage so you don\u2019t have to wash your car as often\u2026providing a longer term solution<\/strong>. Of course, you realize when you pull your car out of the garage and drive it, you\u2019re still going to get pollen on your car. In business, this might be a new program, product or service<\/strong> \u2013 while still servicing the ones you currently have.<\/p>\n Maybe you move to another state where there isn\u2019t pollen\u2026make a big change<\/strong> in your business \u2013 where you do something completely different<\/strong> is sometimes an option \u2013 a really good one.<\/p>\n Just like the seasons, nothing is permanent<\/strong> \u2013 in life or business.<\/p>\n The pollen will go, hotter temperatures will arrive, before the leaves start to fall in the spring, and winter will return.<\/p>\n We know what\u2019s coming with the change in seasons\u2026somewhat.<\/p>\n Your business is much the same<\/strong> way\u2026you just have to take the time and energy<\/strong> to look!
