\nCopywriters?
\nSalespeople?

It\u2019s kids\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Think about it\u2026<\/p>\n

How many times, and how many ways will a young child ask for something they want?
\n(Look how happy that little girl in the picture is\u2026she got her juice box because she didn\u2019t stop asking)<\/em><\/p>\n

The answer is\u2026<\/p>\n

As many as it takes\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are persistent, consistent and they do not stop asking!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It starts with \u201ccan I have\u201d, then they add a \u201cplease\u201d, then a few \u201cpleases\u201d (or a \u201cbut please\u201d), then they try \u201cI love you\u201d. If those don\u2019t work, then they start with \u201cwhy\u201d \u2013 how many ways are there to ask why?<\/p>\n

After that, bargaining begins.<\/strong> \u201cIf you buy that for me, I\u2019ll ____________.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, they start early<\/strong> \u2013 this is happening almost as soon as they can talk. At 2 and 3 years old.<\/p>\n

It might be for a cookie, or a toy, or a variety of other things.<\/p>\n

What is this?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the sales process\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

What\u2019s the difference between the child\u2019s sales process and yours?…<\/p>\n

You give up long before they do!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You get one no, and you stop asking. You give up!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The child is just getting started at the first no.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And, by the way, when they say no\u2026they aren\u2019t saying no to you, so don\u2019t take it personally (more on that in the future).<\/p>\n

You have to keep asking. Ask in different ways. Ask again. Follow up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have many more tools than a child has, but you give up faster than they do.<\/p>\n

A child doesn\u2019t hear no\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why do you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have many more bargaining tools than a child does\u2026<\/p>\n

Use them.<\/p>\n

Be Persistent!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keep at it!<\/strong><\/p>\n
