How I eat a donut is not how I run my business, or how I drive a car, or how I build relationships with my coaching clients, or how I speak from the platform, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It sounds good on the surface, but that\u2019s really all it is\u2026surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It happened Saturday after the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nFor the first time ever, a woman trainer\u2019s horse won the Derby. At 23-1 odds, coming from the back of the pack, Golden Tempo won the race by a nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the winner\u2019s circle, Cherie DeVaux is quoted as saying \u201cI\u2019m glad that I can be a representative of all women everywhere. That we can do anything<\/strong> we set our minds to.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n That part in question here, for me, is \u201cwe can do anything<\/strong> we set our minds to\u201d – as it applies to anyone, not just women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m all for positive thinking<\/strong> and getting your head on straight, not giving up, persevering<\/strong> and being persistent<\/strong>. I\u2019m all for pushing<\/strong> yourself beyond<\/strong> your pre-conceived, false limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And, I\u2019m the first to admit, you can learn most things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can learn to run a business or to be a good copywriter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can learn to play guitar, but will you<\/strong> ever be as good as Jimi Hendrix?<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are a fully grown man, and you weigh 98 pounds, soaking wet, can you really be the heavy weight boxing champion of the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I might be able to learn to sing better but I\u2019m never<\/strong> going to be Whitney Houston, Diana Ross or Beyonce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, I\u2019m all for you believing<\/strong> in yourself. Pushing<\/strong> your limits and striving<\/strong> past your comfort zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most of the time, we don\u2019t push ourselves hard enough, we don\u2019t accomplish all we could if we really gave it our all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And nobody<\/strong> can really accomplish anything<\/strong> they set their mind too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It takes more than wanting to. Sometimes it takes more than working hard to get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most of the time, in business, you can accomplish almost anything you want if you set your mind to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Persist. It won\u2019t happen overnight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It may take time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But, in business you can accomplish great things that positively affect a lot of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What have you talked about that you want to accomplish that you haven\u2019t yet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commit.
Be disciplined.
Focus.
Be consistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
