What Does It Need From You?

Have you ever been relaxing on a weekend, watching a movie, or something and you hear or see something that makes you stop in your tracks? That makes you rewind it so you can hear it again (and again, and again).
That’s exactly what happened to me this past Sunday night. I was watching “Soul On Fire” on Netflix. It actually happened twice during the movie.
To set the scene for you, a father and his college-aged son are talking about his car and the son is sort of complaining that it’s not very reliable.
This is what the father says,
“Well, stop thinking about what it gives you and start thinking about what it needs from you. Take it slow, take it a little easier, invest in it. You’ll be amazed what you get back.”
I’m not sure why it hit me the way it did in that moment (and now), but I couldn’t help but wonder what if we treated every situation that way…including our businesses!
When was the last time you invested in your business for something you needed (or that the business needed from you in order to grow)?
When you put the right things in you get amazing things back.
You wouldn’t put diesel in a gas engine…
You wouldn’t ignore putting oil in your car…
You have to water the plants so they’ll grow after you plant them…
You don’t expect to lose weight without changing how you eat or adding workouts to your life…
But what are you doing to build your business?
What are you ignoring or burying your head in the sand about?
Are you sending a newsletter and posting on social media expecting your business to grow and wondering why it isn’t?
When was the last time you added something to your offerings or did something new?
I could go on and on…
If you need more, or better leads, you could test an ad. You might just be amazed at the results.
A little effort, in the right direction, can make a huge impact…
…in life…at the gym…and in your business.
