Who’s Asking The Tough Questions?

Who do you spend the most time with in your lifetime?
… Yourself
Right?
Last week in the Mastermind with my clients, one of my clients, who does amazing work in their business, was talking about some things and it dawned on me they were their worst critic… like most of us are.
So, being me, I asked her the tough question.
The question was…
… “would you let a friend talk to you that way?”
A surprised look came on their face – more a look of shock really – as they realized they were talking to themselves in a way they wouldn’t let anybody else talk to them.
You spend more time with yourself (and in your head) in your life than you do with anybody else.
So why not be your own best friend instead of your worst enemy?
How often do you overthink things?
How many times do you waste hours, days and weeks on things you can’t change and don’t control anyway?
Do you regularly get the spinnies in your head?
I’m known in my groups for asking the tough questions – it’s not intended to be mean, but we all have to be real with ourselves. And, sometimes, we all just need somebody to point out to us where we need to look.
It’s one of the reasons I have a coach – and always have.
This is partly about self-talk. And it goes further than that too.
It’s about being good to yourself and treating yourself with the respect, love and kindness you deserve.
Do you always take better care of other people in your life than you do of yourself?
Think about that for a minute…
The way you talk to yourself and what you do to take care of yourself is important.
It’s not about being selfish either – it’s just about taking care of you and your mental health – so you can take care of others too.
This applies to your life in general as well as your business.
