At the typical event you attend, you sit in a big hotel room (or lately on a Zoom), with hundreds of other people, getting talked at or sold to over and over again. All day, every day for the length of the event – 2, 3, 4, sometimes 5 days!

The thing is, does “so and so” know the details of your business – who your clients are, what you’ve done in the past, what your goals are, etc.
Is your business like the person’s you took the advice from? How do you know if it is or not – you don’t really know the inside scoop on their business.
Can you imagine asking Bill Gates or Richard Branson why they did something in their business and them telling you they were just copying somebody else? Or, worse yet, they told you they didn’t know why they were doing it, they were just trying stuff.
Richard Branson would have never make it into space if that was the way he conducted business…why are you doing it that way?
Copying everyone else in your industry isn’t strategy and if everyone is doing the same thing how are you going to stand out from everyone else?
However…if you have a solid strategy in your business and you’re following it, you’ll always do things for the right reasons…and most of the time things will work out in your favor – way more favorably then flying by the seat of your pants and doing whatever the last person you talked to recommended!
Knowing why you’re doing what you’re doing and following your plan is always the best thing you can do for your business.
