The Advantages of Having & Successfully Using Good Squeeze Pages

September 24th, 2012 by under Marketing. No Comments.

A squeeze page, also known as a landing page, is a single paged website that is designed for one reason and one reason only…and that is to get a prospect to leave their name and/or email address in exchange for something, some offer, you made them and they want.  For you, the purpose of the page is to generate leads and to be able to market to those leads in the future.

The offer on the squeeze page has to be of value and give the prospect something they really want.  Typically, that’s an answer to some question they have that they want an answer to or a problem they want solved that you have the answer or solution to. This is sometimes referred to as the irresistible free offer (or IFO) because you want this to be something your prospect feels like they can’t live without or something they absolutely have to have.

Think of the offer as your secret sauce.  What is the secret sauce you have that nobody else has, or that nobody else will share with them, that you’ll give them that will change their business in some way.  When you figure out what that is, you have cracked the code and after that it will just be a matter of driving traffic to the page and getting opt-in after opt-in after opt-in, in the form of new clients.

Your answer might be in the form of a video, a CD or DVD that you send them in the mail, a white paper, or free report, of something else of value.  The point is you have to offer them something they want badly enough that they are willing to give you their name and email address to get the solution.

Whatever you offer them as a solution to their problem has to provide a solution.  In other words you have to give them good stuff, usable solutions that work well.  Once you have done that, fulfilled your promise to them, it’s perfectly alright (you’d be foolish not to do this) to offer them a more advanced or detailed solution that would require them to make an investment with you to get.

A good squeeze page, or pages, is one of the keys to lead generation because it very narrowly focuses the prospects that come to you to only the ones who are specifically looking for what you have, so you get targeted traffic – one of the things all business owners want.

The other thing to consider if you have more than one product or service you offer,  it probably makes sense for you to have multiple offers and squeeze pages. This way, you can bring people into your funnel based on their interest and then use those segments of your list in your marketing strategy. By knowing how your prospects came into your funnel, you can make smarter marketing decisions and only offer your prospects things they already have an interest in.  You want your marketing and your offers to be focused on those prospects that are most likely to buy and knowing what their interests are and what brought them to you, what else they have invested in, etc. helps you do just that.
